In this dot.com world the true meaning of friends is skewed. No longer do you have to really engage with someone you just pt and click then viola!. With the advent of Myspace, Facebook and even Blogspot you automatically gain an audience; a plethora of "friends" at your disposal. But I cant blame it all on technology it still is up the individual to discern real from fake.
What is a friend? A friend is an individual that you confide all of your personal ideas, interest, virtues and vice to. He or she is someone you can trust,who doesn't lie to u, who got ur back in tough times. A true friend is someone who doesn't judge you or are with ulterior motives. A friend is more than someone u just know from around the way. I am also guilty of this but we tend to use the word"friend" kinda in the way we choose to use the word "love" it becomes to general all-encompassing to varied situations or people.
Now let me get u str8 on this: there is a thin line u walk when dealing with friends of the opposite sex. I don't care how cool yall are, have been since childhood whatever shyt change partna. I am weary of boys and girls being just friend not saying they cant but u need to tread lightly. It is esp. awkward when one likes the other but the other doesn't ...so how can u still be "friends"? All situations and ppl are different but realize what actions u partake cuz u don't wanna send the wrong signals and end up in some drama.
Friends..how many of us have them? I was told you only have few true friends in life and u should pick ur friends like u pick ur fruit. Both statements are wise in that we all need a support group albeit ur fam or friends life is tough and no one is an island. So before you go off and say "dis is my friend" ask urself is it REALLY? Aint nuthin wrong wit having acquaintances or associates either but having friends is essential to life on this Earth.
